Both of them were leading cartoonists, known globaly. Their cartoons where well appericiated through out the World. Moreover Abu Abraham was a nominated Rajyasabha Member.

Jagan Mathews (IAS)

Jagan Mathews was selected into IAS in 1980 and worked in different positions in U P government. He retired from Central Government service (education) some years ago. At present he is enjoying his retirement in Chennai (Anna Nagar). He has two daughters living abroad.

Munduvelil Mr. M. K. Oommen (Kochukutty Oommen) Vaidhyan (father) and Mr. M. O. Idiculla Vaidhyan (son). Both of them were very famous Netra Vaidhyans (eye doctors) from Cherukole and also were personal Netra Vaidhyans from the period of the erstwhile Maharaja of Travancore, His highness Sree Moolam Thirunal till the period of His Highness Sree Chitira Thirunal  (1905-1958). Patients from far away places and even from other states used to visit them for eye treatment.

Dr. George Mathew

Dr. George Mathew, Retired Forest Entomologist at the Kerala Forest Research Institute, Peechi, is a Conservation Biologist with expertise on forest health and biodiversity conservation. Besides developing strategies for addressing the various forest health issues, he has worked on the forest biodiversity of Kerala. His efforts on the in situ conservation of butterflies is well appreciated and in recognition of his contributions, he has been selected as the “Green Hero of Conservation” by CNN-IBN in 2008. In 2009, he was selected as the “Green Hero of the South” by the Jade Magazine.

After his retirement from the service of KFRI in 2011, he has served in various capacities- Emeritus Scientist at Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment, Trivandrum and at Indira Gandhi University of Engineering and Medical Sciences, Arunachal Pradesh; Protected Area Management Consultant for Sikkim Forest Department as well as International Consultant on Sanitary & Phytosanitary Protocols for Lao PDR (Asian Development Bank). Currently, he is an International Plant Protection Consultant (ADB) at Vanuatu.

He is an approved Research Guide for the Ph.D. programmes of the University of Calicut and the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (Dehra Dun) and has guided 9 students for their Ph D. He has over 125 publications to his credit which include scientific papers, research reports, books and information bulletins.
